Burlesque Blue!! It’s close to be one of my favourite shades of greeny blue turquoisey goodness… Pair it with Dove Grey and you have the perfect match … and what better piece to use these colours on than this stunning ornate large dressing table…
I have to say that this dressing table is pretty even before painting, but I knew that with the right colour choices and finish it could be unique and stunning.
I decided to pop up to Masters and have a look at the Valspar colour swatches. With the ample array of colours to choose from it was difficult making a choice, so I got my hubby to choose. He chose a colour called Burlesque Blue and I have to say I think it is the perfect choice.
I mixed the paint with some Websters Chalk Paint Powder and got painting! I decided to paint the ornate trims with a lovely dove grey. I waxed the piece with L’essentiels clear wax and dark. Then I let it sit. I grabbed my trusty buffing cloth and buffed … buffed… and buffed some more till I had a lovely sheen. Then arm aching I stood back to inspect the finished piece….
What a beauty … and look at those legs!!
The Dove Grey on the trims and carving just adds so much dimension to the piece..
Just take a look at the shine … buffing has its rewards
Such a unique style piece with its trims and carvings ..
This piece is up there with my all time fav’s .. it is sooo striking with its colouring and shape … It was no surprise that it found a new home only hours after posting!! 🙂 Websters is a great product so why not grab some burlesque blue and paint your own masterpiece??
I’m not that much of a internet reader to be honest but your blogs really nice,
