Hello all, I hope you are staying warm and relaxing on this chilly Sunday evening.
Tonight I though I would share some pictures and give you an update on how the opening of our retail space at the Ballarat Mill Market went.
As most of you who follow me online would know, we have been working very hard to organize and get our retail space open for business! You can read all about the preparation of the shop and opening day HERE ..
Well opening day was an absolute BLAST .. as promised we had a delicious array of Macarons to giveaway, we had a cheese platter, chocolate, strawberries and even a bottle of vintage Moet Chandon!!
They say a picture speaks a thousand words so rather than blab on, I am going to share the shots I managed to take during the course of the day as a sort of picture story of how the shop turned out on the day!!
Seriously if you haven’t tried the Macarons that Jacinta from Edible Indulgence makes, then you are missing out!! They are the best I have tasted and the salted caramel and pistachio are to die for.
Up the back of the shop I decided to set up a gorgeous extendable cabriole leg rustic farm house style table that has the sweetest ornate carving and detail. I love the aged distressed yellow finish and the grey trim, the top is pretty rustic and I finished it with a coat of white wax which brings out all the grain and aged patina of the top.
On display are some stunning vintage wares including vintage glass and crystal ware and some stunning reclaimed aluminium pieces.
I just love the look of rustic vintage kitchen wares such as jelly molds, old mini pastry cases etc .. I think the aged rustic look of the metal paired with the natural tones of the wooden boards and the white vintage linen napkins is just gorgeous, will have to set some vignettes like this up in my kitchen!!
Our feature piece of the day was definitely the rustic Lucketts Green Sideboard, it just looked fantastic set up in the shop!
I decided to put the linen cabinet to good use and use it to display a lovely selection of shabby throws, pillows and padded hangers etc from Linen and Things
Selling bunches of locally grown lavender adds such a lovely smell to the shop!!
On display are these gorgeous ceramic handles, just stunning colours and patterns, love these!!!
A selection of hand made gift tags and crafts 😀
and lastly but not least is this sweet little cupboard that I am using to display our DIY and furniture refinishing products including Websters Chalk Paint Powder and a range of L’essentiels products including beeswax furniture wax (clear, lustre, dark, black lustre and white) wax pucks for distressing and coming soon we will be adding ageing dusts in black and natural and brush soaps too…
We are working on more and more new and exciting finds, pieces and products to add to our shop so keep your eye out .. Also don’t forget to register for our chalk paint workshops and learn to refinish your own piece 😀 xx
