Well hello there my cyber friends
I hope that if you are reading from anywhere within 20km radius of Ballarat that you survived the downpour that was yesterday. When I say it poured I mean it poured (well at least where my lil house is it did) I actually thought that my house might become an ark and float away!!
Well despite the weather, my life over the past few weeks has been pretty busy … actually its been hectic!! Since our 2 moves in Nov / Dec everything has been a bit crazy. I have had some success, I got my husbands very last minute tax done. I painted an entire hoard of vintage bottles, jars and assorted glass wares. I found the most amazing vintage frames and prints. I nearly died on a crazy horse ride with my sister. And now I have a very exciting custom job on that I can’t wait to share with you all. But today I really want to tell you all about my next upcoming stall.
In case you haven’t realized but next weekend is the Ballarat Heritage Weekend!!! The whole weekends activities sound absolutely fabulous but I am especially excited because Rustic Boutique is part of a fantastic pop-up market organised by the lovely girls at the Ballarat Pop-Up Collective, who run gorgeous and unique markets that well ‘ pop up’ in great locations and times of year with unique and talented designers and stall holders. This time round we have been super lucky and have been accepted as a stall holder at their wonderful Ballarat Heritage Weekend Pop-Up Market, squeeeeeeeee!!!
Here is a picture of the official flyer advertising this wonderful market … and the flyer I made just coz I am dying of excitement
The market is being held in the Minerva Room of the Ballarat Mechanics Institute on 10th and 11th May!
In preparation for this event I have been making some pretty big plans and doing some advertising. Yesterday I went around to some of my favourite cafes and hung some flyers to spread the word. This stall is going to be a bit of an adjustment from my other stalls. I have been spoilt for room in my 6 X 3 marquee set up, but this being an indoor market means that the space and set up will be very different from any other stall I have done.
I have been working on a very gorgeous backdrop which my husband kindly built for me so that I can hang my vintage frames and prints. Here is a sneak peak of what I am working on.
I also have been working on a lot of smaller pieces such as upcycled vintage decor, painted glass ware, vintage crockery, some absolutely divine hand made natural soaps and some gorgeous Savon De Marseilles soap gift packs. My hubby also bought me an awesome rustic storage box to use to display my hand crafted gift tags and decorations. I will also have some of my favourite upcycled furniture on display!! If you jump on the website for the Pop-up Collective and check out some of their previous markets and stall holders you will see some of the awesome and unique talent and great products for sale, in fact this market would be the PERFECT place to come and find that unique gift for someone special or to just treat yourself.
Aside from this awesome little market the whole weekend sounds awesome, here are some events that sound great in and around Ballarat
