Good Morning to you wherever you are reading from 🙂
I hope that you all had a lovely weekend and have survived the start of a new week!! Today I thought that I would share with you some bits and pieces that I worked on a few weeks ago, the weather has been pretty miserable of late so I have been confined to indoors more than usual. I considered hibernating till the rain and cold passes but where I live if I did that I may never wake up haha (and as I am typing this I am feeling increasingly guilty as the sun has just bust its wonderful face through the clouds).
So to make use of my circumstances I decided to work on some smaller bits and pieces which turned out to be a lot of fun and a nice mix up too. I have to confess that I have a bit of an obsession with vintage Agee Utility Jars, I greedily collect them and my obsession is spreading to other vintage glass items. Due to my hoarding nature I had a nice little selection of Agee Jars and other glass bottles etc on hand and I decided that enough was enough … it was time to paint them (well most of them) and move them on to new homes. Choosing which ones to let go of was hard but in the end I decided to paint all of them (bar 2 which I don’t ever think I could part with, they have tinted blue glass and I just LURVE them so they will stay safely on display on my hutch hehe).
I knew I wanted fresh shabby chic pastel and retro colours for the jars and once I got painting them it was highly addictive, as the coats dried I could see the transformation. I shabbied them up with some distressing and then a coat of wax and BAM!!!! they just looked amazing (which made it very hard not to keep them).
Don’t they just look awesome 🙂 … they would add such a great and unique burst of colour to their new home!!
I didn’t think that these would last long, the white, mint and pink have been snapped up already!! And this super cool lemonade bottle has been snapped up too 😀
Now that I have found my bottle and jar addiction there is no stopping me and seriously how cool is Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!!!
I have been out hunting and have some more great glass jar and bottle transformations to share with you soon so stay tuned 🙂 …. and have a wonderful day wherever you are!!! X
